Sensei Fukuda moved to California to pursue his dream of becoming a professional surfer. However, after training under Grandmaster Kunio Miyake, he shifted his focus to karate and embarked on a highly successful competitive career. This led him to establish a thriving dojo and serve as the USA National Karate Head Coach for a time. Now, he works alongside his wife, Sensei Nicole, producing many winning athletes.
Dave Post - Surfing
After ending my 10-year pro career with Volcom, I found my passion in coaching. Over 18 years, I've worked with National Champions and world tour athletes, constantly learning to communicate and understand athletes of all ages. I know what it takes to become a champion or simply a better surfer. As the team manager for Jack's Surf Shop for 17 years, I've built amazing relationships within the industry. I'm excited about the growth in the sport of surfing.
Greg Smith - Wrestling
Coach Greg Smith is an Orange County native. His dream was to become a professional baseball player, until he realized his calling was for wrestling. Greg competed in freestyle, greco roman, and folkstyle wrestling for 10 years. He trained under Olympian, John Azevedo. After competing, he transitioned into coaching youth and high school wrestling for 10 plus years. Greg has coached several CIF state placers. Many of his athletes continued their wrestling careers at D1 and D2 universities, while others became amateur and professional MMA fighters. Greg's ability to connect with children and break down the wrestling technique to the finest details are second to none.
